The Community Manager will engage and interact with consumers on social channels, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.  The community manager will uncover data to determine how to reach new volunteers, donors, and patients to serve. He/She will facilitate and encourage personal connections between ACS and its followers and help turn fans into brand advocates/ambassadors.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Own the social media response practice across the American Cancer Society’s Masterbrand channels as well as sub-brands’s channels.
  • Practice best-in-class community management to ensure flawless execution of response, timing, and content delivery in an authentic brand voice.
  • Manage conversations with followers in a consistent brand voice across all channels and participate in dialogue around trending topics, popular hashtags, current and live events.
  • Monitor trends, competitor presences and new social media marketing opportunities as they become available and leverage them to execute new campaigns. Create process to ensure timely communication back to the business to inform social process and content.
  • Collaborate with content strategist to define brands/types of content to share across ACS channels.
  • Compile and deliver timely and informative social listening reports to internal constituents with actionable insights.
  • Identify and propose new social audience growth opportunities based on macro conversations
  • Identify and propose new community engagement opportunities based on macro conversations
  • Execute organizational influencer strategies and engage with influencers in real time, to deliver on business goals.
  • Define and action real-time content moments.
  • Define and optimize organizational tools for social publishing, listening, and response.
  • SuDeliver exceptional customer service through social media in coordination with National Cancer Information Center (NCIC) and Corporate Communications.
  • Define and deliver training and support resources for moderators at the National Cancer Information Center (NCIC)
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5+ years’ experience with a community management or digital communication focus.
