The Senior Enterprise Architect provides leadership and technical guidance in the pursuit of solutions to gain competitive advantage. Conducts/leads research on new and emerging technologies for practical application to business problems and strategic initiatives. Provides technology consultative services to senior management. Reviews current technology architecture and seeks ways to leverage, improve and/or extend corporate technology investments. Works with IT leadership in establishing technical directions, strategies, and roadmaps. Ensures that cross-platform architectural components properly “fit” within the enterprise and maximum benefit can be gained.
Develops documentation on recommended solutions that would include relevant research, cost analysis data, risk information, implementation strategies and industry positions.
May often lead an ad-hoc multi-discipline team of non-direct report technical staff in order to develop solutions and conduct proof of concept exercises. Will interact with business unit management, applications systems management, technology management, vendors and industry experts to collect requirements, understand options, and determine solutions.
- Work with key stakeholders to establish an understanding of ACS businesses strategies and goals.
- Develop enterprise scale future-state architecture that aligns business strategy, processes, and IT assets with business goals
- Effectively communicate the value of enterprise architecture to the organization to the rest of the enterprise
- Leads the creation and governance of enterprise technology standards for the organization
- Assembles and leads teams of intermediate & senior level resources in pursuit of comprehensive solutions to business challenges.
- Advises and defines the architecture approach for projects that guides project activities toward desired Architecture model.
- Develops architectural diagrams that document project plans, production systems, etc.
- Acts as centralized viewpoint in looking at the “big picture” and bridging across the various technology platforms to ensure continuity of direction, leveraging of company assets, best practices, and overall integration.
- Researches and identifies new technologies to enable or grow business capabilities.
- Conducts industry research to develop solutions to resolve business needs. Drafts whitepapers and communicates findings to management.
- Meets regularly with key business and technology unit personnel, industry experts, clients, and Applications Development teams to collect requirements and/or research solutions.
- Responsible for establishing best practices, standards and guidelines for selecting, developing, and implementing information systems within enterprise.
- 10 years of intermediate to senior level experience in multiple information technology software development and architecture disciplines such as application development, application architecture, solutions architecture, and / or enterprise architecture.
- Experience with infrastructure engineering, architecture, and / or management preferred.
- Must have a proven track record in leading IT and business teams.
