Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is in search of an experienced and dedicated Software Developer – Salesforce. The software developer develops specifications for the Salesforce platform as well as modifies/maintains the existing software. This person will be responsible for performing general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployments, and technical documentation. Supports integration of Salesforce with internal or cloud based systems. Must be able to partner with business clients to understand needs and priorities. This resource is considered an expert of the Salesforce platform (and ecosystem) and must stay abreast of all the key capabilities available now and in the future (understands Salesforce roadmap).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
  • Assumes ownership of core components of existing systems and recommend, plan, and implement improvements
  • Improves software components to be consistent, easily supported and highly performing through the use of existing software design guidelines and analysis of performance bottlenecks
  • Perform ongoing system administration, including among other tasks; maintaining user roles, security settings, territories, user profiles, workflow rules, and data integrity
  • Build and manage dashboards, reports, Visualforce pages, forms, templates, custom objects, object relationships, fields, and layouts
  • Assist with Salesforce clean up procedures, including data migrations and mass data uploads
  • Support the organization in system configuration with an emphasis on troubleshooting user issues, maintenance and system enhancements
  • Perform business requirements analysis and evaluate complex business and technical requirements and design solutions using Salesforce best practices.
  • Collaborate with external resources as needed
  • Work with business and IT to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable solutions with both bought and built technologies.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of Development experience in Salesforce Platform. Certified Salesforce.com Platform Developer and Salesforce Admin or equivalent experience 
  • Experience working with technical and business stakeholders from global cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans quickly
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient client management skills to support business analysis and application support activities.
  • Teamwork skills because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively 
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • Understanding of key SFDC design and architectural concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of capabilities and constraints of SFDC CRM application
  • Working experience in Visualforce, Apex Classes, Controllers, Apex Triggers
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling and database schema.
  • Knowledge of and experience in integrations with Salesforce.
  • Professional experience in a test-driven and formal QA development environment, including development/staging/production (or similar) deployment cycles
  • Design and architecture knowledge as well as familiarity with object oriented analysis and design patterns (OOA/OOD a plus) and data structure
  • Experience in security concepts such as secure development life cycle, application security, data security

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with third party applications that run on Salesforce (i.e. Conga, Financial Force)
  • Non-profit experience or background.
