Program Manager- Aging In Place

At Habitat for Humanity International, we believe all people have the right to age with dignity in their homes and communities. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Program Manager with expertise in the field of aging to implement a national Aging in Place strategy. The person selected will be the primary driver of the initiative developing the plan, taking it from the current state to a fully implemented program with a broad and comprehensive national scope. 

Aging in Place is a holistic approach where Habitat partners with other organizations to meet older adults' priorities. Aging in Place is a component of Habitat's Neighborhood Revitalization strategy that acknowledges housing plays a critical but not the only role in improving the quality of life for individuals. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as the organization's Subject Matter Expert for Aging in Place for both internal and external relationships
  • Develop, continuously refine, and monitor implementation of Habitat’s national strategy for Aging in Place
  • Increase the number of affiliates dedicated to an Aging in Place program, providing a combination of housing options and support services to enable older adults to age in place
  • Identify and develop national partners to provided coordinated services to the aging population
  • Develop and implement a methodology for measuring the outcomes and impact that Habitat is having on the people that it serves
  • Develop and execute training for Habitat affiliates and HFHI staff
  • Manage and refine tools for affiliates engaged in Aging in Place. Including, but not limited to: holistic assessment tools and Partnership and Coalition guide
  • In partnership with other HFHI departments: assist in developing a fundraising strategy for Aging in Place, and work closely to support Resource Development fundraising efforts
  • Build and support national and local level advocacy efforts for older adults; inculcate Aging in Place in other HFHI departments; develop and promote standards for repairs and modifications for older adults;
Educational Background: 
Graduate degree in Sociology, Gerontology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years experience of successful managing a national Aging In Place program
  • Knowledge of the field of aging, including national trends as well as other key agencies, actors and experts
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating workshops and making public presentations
  • Demonstrated skill in raising funds and managing donors
  • Experience creating reports and working with data
  • Experience in creation and management complex projects and budgets
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Ability to work in ambiguity
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as an aptitude in working with virtual teams
  • Project management of grants and programs
