Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Manager of Habitat Mortgage Solutions (HMS) Program Implementation.
Operating as a Community Development Financial Institution, HMS' overarching goal is to help Habitat for Humanity International’s (HFHI) network of over 1,200 affiliates bring to life HFHI’s vision of “A world where everyone has a decent place to live”. At the core of this is the ability for our affiliate to serve more people. One of the primary ways our domestic affiliates do this is by acting as mortgage lenders.
HMS works to assist our affiliates in their work as lenders both from an operational and funding perspective. Operationally, HMS provides HFHI affiliates support via the Mortgage Origination Platform (“the Platform”). The Platform is the result of a 3 year project focused on how HFHI could help affiliates in their work as mortgage originators.
HMS is looking for a multi-faceted, self-starter that can help to continue the development of the Platform, while also launching the program to the affiliate community.
This position’s primary focus is to organize, plan and lead the HMS team through the on-going requirements of the HMS Platform which includes operations, marketing and affiliate acquisition.
Project Management Lead for HMS Team:
- Set, prioritize, track and report on tasks to be completed for proper implementation of the HMS Platform
- Assume lead role in weekly HMS Team meetings for proper communications about the progress of the project
- Develop timelines, plans, reports and other documents to properly chronicle the roll out of the HMS Platform
- Help advocate best practices and be an available sounding board and resident expert for proper mortgage processes, procedures and operations
- Develop, recommend, implement and maintain operational procedures, tools and technology to ensure growth can scale and service levels can be maintained at all levels of production
- Provide internal and external updates when necessary
Operational Lead for the Platform:
- Work with existing HMS team to continue to refine the mortgage origination process
- Maintain Progam inbox
- Create and revise necessary policy and procedure memos
- Work with HFHI Legal Department and, when required, outside counsel or consultants to ensure that the HMS Platform maintains regulatory complaint documents
- Act as chief liaison between HFHI and its Habitat Mortgage Solution (“HMS”) Platform partners
Manage Marketing & Efforts:
- Participate in national and state-wide Habitat conferences in order to demonstrate and present the system concept, garner interest and commitment to the utilization of the HMS Platform
- Develop and modify presentation, marketing materials and marketing strategy documents in support of such efforts
- Initial point of contact when soliciting Affiliates for Beta Test phase or permanent roll out of the HMS Platform
- Coordinate, monitor and ensure that Affiliate’s needs are being met and that support of the system is occurring in a timely manner from HMS Team and Outsourced Partners
- Lead Affiliate Acquisition
- Soliciting Affiliates through e-mail, telephone and other marketing campaigns
- 5 years or more experience in Mortgage Banking with an emphasis on Marketing, Operations and Compliance
- Secondary market and loan program development experience
- Affordable housing experience, preferably working with a non-profit entity preferred
