As an Environmental Research Intern, you will conduct a comprehensive review of housing and the environment and recommend next steps for the Terwilliger Center as well as assist with research, knowledge management and communications functions of the Terwilliger Center. This position will work directly with Habitat’s Terwilliger Center’s Thought Leadership and Research Director.
- Conduct desk research on housing and the environment, review environmentally-focused initiatives supported by the Terwilliger Center, recommend next steps on a comprehensive integration of environmental considerations into the work of the Terwilliger Center (55%)
- Conduct desk research on themes and topics related to the global learning agenda for the Terwilliger Center such as the incremental home-building model and innovation in shelter (15%)
- Draft briefs, assemble PowerPoint presentations and perform other communications-related tasks (15%)
- Post and organize content on online platforms (15%)
- Knowledge and know-how regarding concepts and practice of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Good writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- International, urban and/or housing experience
You will gain a deeper understanding of how a global non-profit is moving beyond delivering one house at a time to increase its scale, quality and impact through the implementation of comprehensive market-based solutions. You will be an important part of designing and strengthening the Terwilliger Center’s contributions to safeguarding the environment.
