Provides technical support of PC; laptop and mobile devices. This includes hardware/software problem resolution; reimaging; and configuring devices for end users. Follows procedures and processes for warranty repair and initial deployment of new desktops and laptops. Processes include necessary shipping/receiving, inventory tracking; and equipment security. Ensures that metrics are logged; as necessary; to support process improvement.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure that equipment is processed (shipped; received) in a timely manner and is in accordance with methods and procedures.
  • Follow equipment inventory tracking procedures.
  • Troubleshoots returned hardware and software to determine cause of issue.
  • Repairs equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty program.
  • Performs hardware upgrades and maintenance as necessary such as replacing HD’s; LCD displays; adding memory; etc.
  • Reimages and configures COE equipment for rapid redeployment to staff.
  • Restores user files where necessary.
  • Ensures that returned and removed service equipment is tracked and disposed of according to established policies and procedures.
Skills/Experience: 

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum of two years hardware/software experience in a support capacity preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ required
  • Strong knowledge technical knowledge of desktops, laptops.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience in shipping and receiving computer and other sensitive equipment• Experience tracking inventory of IT equipment
  • Good working knowledge of Active Directory Users and Groups administration

SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Limited exposure to physical risk.
