Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Direct Marketing Database Manager. The Direct Marketing Database Manager position is a critical part of the Direct Marketing (DM) Database Group. The Manager assists the Director, Direct Marketing Operations, and Director, Database Strategy & Analytics, with documenting database strategies and business processes and uncovering areas of opportunity for improved marketing functionality and enhancing the donor experience. The DM Database Group collaborates with Direct Marketing, Resource Development (RD) Operations, Finance, IT, Partner Service Center and other project teams to ensure the data necessary for marketing is captured cleanly and seamlessly moves between environments. This position will be based in Atlanta, GA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage the tracking and completion of tasks associated with resolving reporting, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and marketing database issues. Research and troubleshoot database issues and coordinate with the Direct Marketing team and vendors to ensure issues are fully captured and documented
  • Track and identify needs for future CRM and marketing database improvements
  • Document and streamline database business processes
  • Assist with development, implementation, and QA of reports for the Direct Marketing team. Ensure reports are delivered in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Director, Direct Marketing Operations and the Resource Development Operations group to ensure donor data is clean and up-to-date
  • Understand HFHI’s data structure to help vendors and teammates correctly interpret the data
  • Maintain and develop job aids for the Direct Marketing team
  • Collaborate with US Support to create affiliate labels and data files and ensure they are produced and delivered in a timely manner
  • Serve as a back-up to the Direct Marketing Coordinator on payment of invoices and submission of accruals and purchase orders
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Success Criteria: Indicate the metrics or other standards that will be used to measure success in this role
Skills/Experience: 
  • Years of Related Experience: 5 years
  • The Manager must possess a combination of strategic and analytical thinking along with a sense of urgency around achieving fundraising goals
  • Experience in international development and relief preferred
  • Experience collaborating with others in a complex, matrix-structured, multi-national, dynamic organizational environment
  • Experience in managing a staff member to help achieve departmental goals
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions that lead to innovative approaches for developing fundraising programs
  • Ability to develop trust and strong collaborative working relationships 
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, with excellent listening skills
  • Passion for and commitment to the HFH mission
  • Ability to “ignite passion” and create and communicate excitement about HFH’s compelling mission
  • Strong technology skills and experience that ideally includes an understanding of: large-scale database management; nonprofit constituency relationship management systems; and web-application development processes
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities and trends
  • The individual with high energy level, self-confidence and a positive “can-do” attitude are essential

  • The highly collaborative nature of this position requires exceptional communication and relationship building skills along with excellent project management skills (with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently).
