Responsible for the oversight, management, and publishing of assigned non-medical content on cancer.org, and other sites and sub-sites on the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform. Responsible for editorial oversight and implementation of site design standards, editorial style standards, and editorial calendar of assigned content. Supports other content authors through training, content creation and review, and workflow approvals.Accountable for the overall quality of the content that is published, as well as understanding available data to make recommendations and improvements. Support the day-to-day digital marketing activities: requests, campaign execution and optimization, content strategy and development, and data analysis.Support the ongoing strategy and product ownership of the content management platform, including requirements, testing, and overall impact to the customer experience. Contribute to the product roadmap and participate in prioritization of product backlog items in an agile environment. Support code launches.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Publish/update content on content management system (AEM) – for projects, enhancements, content improvements for assigned areas, correct defects, support and make SEO updates, schedule and manage reviews with stakeholders; work with cross-departmental teams; collaborate with third-party vendors and agencies.
  • Manage AEM Platform – prioritization of Product Backlog Items, write requirements, work with developers, UAT, launches, detailed design of solution
  • Campaigns – review, define solutions for, collaborate with cross-departmental teams and stakeholders, implement on AEM platform
  • Analysis – Evaluate site feedback and site performance data from ContentWRX, Siteimprove, Google Analytics, Hot Jar, and Optimizely
  • Shape and assess requests – content and platform strategy, technical assessment, consulting, roadmap input, high-level design of solutions
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Web Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Business analysis skills a plus. 2-5 years of digital content experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong content management, publishing, and editing skills (AEM preferred)
  • Strong understanding of content management systems, especially systems that use components
  • Proven attention to detail, superior knowledge of editorial mechanics such as grammar and punctuation, creativity, and ear for tone and nuance are key to articulating the mission and messages of the American Cancer Society to various audiences. Good eye for layout.
  • Ability to document clear requirements and specifications for development
  • Willingness to learn about Accessibility requirements for persons with disabilities
  • Understanding of digital content best practices, including SEO , usability, and user experience
  • Familiarity with CSS and HTML desired, but this is not a coding role
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to deliver quality work on projects with defined and assigned tasks, and timelines. Basic project management skills needed.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and use critical decision-making skills to evaluate business implications
  • Understanding of digital development processes and the ability to maintain the customer focus throughout the lifecycle on large-scale projects.
  • A keen awareness of current industry trends in digital content marketing & strategy and a drive to explore new methods.
  • Strong editor, understanding of web publishing and web marketing and/or experience in marketing with a strong online focus.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
