Leads execution against enterprise-wide vision, direction and strategy for best in class Distinguished Events (gala and golf portfolio) for assigned region, including accountability for multi-million dollar income targets and collaboration around HNWI and Corporate Partners. Ensures goal achievement through the effective leadership and management of diverse staff, and the engagement and mobilization of high level volunteers. Working with regional leadership and global headquarters departments, develops regional strategy and planning within Distinguished Partners staff structure and framework, as well as related mission, communications and advocacy activities. Ensures goal achievement through effective leadership and collaboration with market leadership, major gifts, and corporate relations, and the engagement and mobilization of volunteers. Responsible for profits and loss for regional DE fundraising activities and ensuring ROI targets are achieved.
- Develops and leads implementation of the regional strategy for DE, including event execution and volunteer engagement to drive revenue growth through DE relationship cultivation. Working across all verticals as necessary, ensure support, resourcing and ongoing communication with all staff in the Region with gala and golf revenue responsibilities.
- Manages, coaches, and develops a team of distinguished event staff located in top 50 markets responsible for driving significant growth of million dollar events within the portfolio to meet region and enterprise mission and income goals; ensures that responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are well-defined.
- Monitors financial expenditures and progress against the budgetary plan and takes appropriate measures to meet top line and bottom line goals ensuring a high ROI in meeting mission and revenue targets. Establishes and manages execution against annual budget. Responsible for ongoing revenue forecasting.
- Develops team strategy to maximize the engagement of volunteers to achieve revenue goals; this includes engaging with high level senior level executive and civic leaders who contribute to the success of the Society; oversees volunteer engagement efforts to ensure talent and capacity is available to execute volunteer-driven activities.
- Ensures stewardship and engagement of high level volunteers with market and national boards, CEO chapters, and other organizational leadership groups.
- Ensures collaboration with Major Gifts and Corporate Relations staff and volunteers to drive revenue growth through distinguished events, and effective stewardship of key volunteer and donor relationships.
- Supports solicitation and stewardship of HNWI gift prospects; engagement of CEO chapters and members, c-suite executives from F1000 corporations; and six-figure sponsorship solicitation and stewardship
- Collaborates with Market Leads, Cancer Control, Community Development, Business Operations and Planning, Communications/Marketing and ACS CAN leads to ensure coordinated and interdependent achievement of region goals; leveraging community relationships to achieve income and mission goals.
- Collaborates with global headquarters to identify events/areas within the region with best opportunity for growth/ROI and develop/implement respective strategies; this includes the identification of region needs (training, collateral, product) and develop/implement respective strategies. Serves as a voice for market needs.
- Maintains a productive and collaborative relationship with the Society’s global headquarters departments and other regions to develop and drive nationwide strategy execution and platform implementation; participates on enterprise projects and committees as appropriate.
- Ensures appropriate support is provided for successful executions of events, including collaborative planning and continuous performance feedback to the enterprise support teams and leadership of those teams.
- Directs the utilization of event best practices to maximize fundraising through DE portfolio and actively works within a nationwide framework to seize opportunities across local and regional boundaries.
- Drives community relevance through customer-centric and innovative strategies
- Accountable for integration across Distinguished Partners, Community Development, Business Planning & Operations, Communications/Marketing and ACS CAN teams.
- Works in partnership with ACS CAN, including efforts to increase ACS CAN membership and financial support.
- Models and fosters behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership, and is consistent with the values, goals, and objectives of the Society to create an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability, empowerment, and dedication to the mission.
- Preferred 5 years’ experience or comparable work experience with coordination and execution of large scale distinguished events, volunteer management for fundraising, and staff management expertise for a multi-million dollar organization. Proven successful management experience required.
