Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a professional to fill the role of Senior Financial Analyst – New Market Tax Credits (NMTC). HFHI’s NMTC program assists our Habitat affiliates in building homes for families by dispersing more than $181 million in NMTC allocations since 2007. This candidate will assist with financial reporting and compliance with the NMTC deals as well as assisting with other financial reporting and analysis for HFHI. This position will be based in HFHI's administrative office in Atlanta, GA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide timely information required under New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) servicing agreements
  • Assist in the coordination of each NMTC transaction closing
  • Provide initial and ongoing technical accounting support for affiliates participating in NMTC issuances
  • Interface with affiliates to obtain, review, and forward required information under NMTC servicing requirements
  • Assist tax compliance manager with preparation of tax returns related to HFHI NMTC entities
  • Maintain project management database of key deliverable due dates for NMTC program
  • Assist associate director of financial reporting in conducting technical accounting research for both HFHI and the NMTC program
  • Assist with other financial analysis and reporting projects, as needed
Educational Background: 
CPA or MBA designation
Skills/Experience: 
  • 10 years’ experience in finance or accounting field
  • Highly motivated individual with financial accounting and research experience
  • Ability to apply US GAAP to complicated accounting transactions
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct financial analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills
  • Solid organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to conduct detailed accounting research
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as being a team player
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in New Markets Tax Credit program or other tax credit programs
  • Not-for-profit related work
