Habitat for Humanity International is looking for an experienced Marketing Strategy Director to work in collaboration with our Resource Development colleagues in Corporate, Cause Marketing and Workplace Giving. The person in this role is responsible for providing strategic marketing leadership to Habitat for Humanity’s corporate, cause-related marketing and workplace giving partners. In this position, the Director, Marketing Strategy will serve as the primary marketing strategist within the Marketing, Branding & Publications department and will liaise with their Marketing and Communications colleagues to maximize promotional and recognition opportunities for the mutual benefit of Habitat and our national partners. S/he will also be charged with developing and implementing creative and integrated communication strategies in partnership with these donors, inclusive of lending expertise and guidance across brand marketing, digital/social media, public relations and events/promotions.

In addition to leading the marketing, communications and promotional strategy in support of the organization’s Corporate, Cause Marketing and Workplace Giving donors, this position will also collaborate on various development-driven marketing activities and events, including leading the creation of Resource Development fundraising and “sales” collateral and consumer facing assets (i.e., in-store marketing collateral, online, media integrations, etc.).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support growth of the Habitat mission through innovation and strategic planning as related to marketing activations that drive revenue for Habitat.
  • Develop multi-disciplinary marketing and communications strategies that both drive consumer awareness for campaigns benefitting Habitat and recognize/acknowledge corporate donors for their support of the mission.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 10+ years progressive experience including minimum 6 years in leadership role(s)
  • Proactive and organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects
  • Marketing, promotions and communications experience in the corporate or marketing/public relations/promotional agency setting
  • Ability to develop and execute innovative and strategic plans that balance partner/client marketing goals and objectives with Habitat's mission, goals and objectives
  • Excellent planning skills with proven experience in marketing project management, event planning and leadership
  • Wide range of communications skills and experience including brand management, promotional and persuasive writing, PR and event management.
  • Proven innovation and success with multidisciplinary CSR programs.
  • Proven relationship, negotiation and account management experience
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and marketing communications skills; ability to drive towards consensus across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous nonprofit and online fundraising experience
  • Background in in-store/retail marketing, shopper marketing and/or media partnerships a plus.
