The Director, Marketing and Business Analytics supports Strategic Marketing and Alliances to provide comprehensive analysis and insights to enhance enterprise decision making. This role collaborates with strategic marketing teams and channel owners to establish the most appropriate analytic approaches and methodologies, extend efficient and impactful uses of analytics and intelligence resources, gather and analyze data, and interpret the results to answer business questions with marketing a focus.This leader is accountable for leading and performing the full spectrum of analytic functions for projects and programs of all complexity levels, is extremely comfortable with online and off-line data sources, leading the integration of data areas including media analytics, online and offline behavioral analytics, including web, social, mobile behavior measurement, and employee satisfaction, providing a holistic view.This leader understands business drivers deeply to most appropriately delve into data, and works closely with business units to link marketing impact to business outcomes via statistical analysis on marketing and enterprise level business data.This leader communicates effectively, translating numerical historical outcomes into coherent stories with meaningful visualization for presentation to the Board of Director level, to ACS senior leadership, to internal stakeholders, and to the individual decision maker.In addition, this leader is accountable for developing and maintaining the strategic marketing KPI dashboards and business scorecards on a regular basis and supports senior executive review and decision making.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Collaborates in the development of analytic capabilities and in ensuring alignment of these capabilities to organizational strategies and roadmaps.
  • Develops the analytic strategy and leading analysis on complex analytic initiatives from idea to implementation. Leads the work to gather, analyze, specify, communicate and validate business requirements for analytic questions.
  • Oversees data collection strategy and data integrity. Tracks, enhances and maintains American Cancer Society marketing data. Cleanses and transforms raw data to a format suitable for analytic use, if necessary.
  • Participates in campaigns and projects from the start to ensure business outcomes can be measured and assessed, oversees the process of digital assets tagging management and ensuring digital assets are properly tagged.
  • Drives the business through insights to improve our marketing efficiency. Delivers end-to-end analysis leading to actionable conclusions and recommendations.
  • Leads the creation of data visualizations that concisely deliver findings and recommendations. Leads the creation and management of marketing analytics reports, dashboards and scorecards.
  • Supports forecasting and predictive analytics efforts.
  • Leads distribution of monthly and/or quarterly reports including summarizing talking points for key stakeholders and presentations to ACS’ key stakeholders within various business units.Responds to periodic requests for historical and/or custom data pulls.
  • Overseas resolution of the digital issues related to Google Analytics work
  • Develops a requirement approach for analytic initiatives - including developing estimates and timelines for analytic deliverables for medium to large projects.
  • Ensures the requirement deliverables are compliant, auditable, unambiguous, complete, consistent, understood clearly and meet the business and technical needs of the project.
  • Strong interpersonal and influence management skills. Works effectively with IT teams, research and analytics teams, marketing stakeholders, senior management, agencies and data suppliers, to create and maintain a data ecosystem that supports maximizing mission objectives.
  • Applies subject area expertise in this area to ensure all data measurement is completed with the highest quality and validity.
  • Works across functions to identify technical and process drivers of discrepancies among data sources to clearly articulate why discrepancies exist.
  • Adheres to and supports all data management practices and governance practices.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining credibility and effective relationships with others across functions and levels within the organization.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops team members.
Educational Background: 
BS required in Statistics, Business Intelligence. Advanced degree, MBA is preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 6+ years of general business experience with a clear focus on analytics capabilities with project management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Google Analytics and related products - Big Query and Data Studio preferred
  • 6+ years of analytics tool experience such as SPSS, SAS, R etc. Familiarity with SAP Business Objects and/or Crystal Reports preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with complex reporting and data modelling in Microsoft Excel and related products
  •  4+ years with SQL and database access.
  • Familiarity with online marketing and advertising data sources, such as AdWords, Salesforce, Marin, Facebook, etc.
  • Conceptual data modeling ability preferred.
  • Previous experience leading others preferred.
