We are seeking a Sr. Mid-Level Giving Officer to provide leadership for a new team at March of Dimes focused on building and sustaining a mid-level program. The team will be responsible for almost all communications, and all solicitations and stewardship strategies, for an identified cohort of high potential current donors as well as future donors who have the potential to grow in their giving. The position works collaboratively with national, regional, and market leadership to ensure that the March of Dimes mission and fundraising objectives are met.

The position reports to VP of Major, Principal, & Planned Giving.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Building, strategizing, planning and executing the mid-level program. 
  • Build a team of three additional staff within 18-24 months 
  • Managing strategies that segment donors according to certain criteria, including case for support interest, giving history, geography, personal connections to mission and professional connections to mission.
  • Coordinating all communication, solicitation and stewardship to target donors, locally and nationally
  • Identifying through database triggers and donor behavior the donors who should be migrated to major-gift level attention.
  • Coordinating with national and market staff for the seamless outreach to donors nationwide who are prepared to give with-in and beyond the parameters of the mid-level giving program.
  • Personally managing a large direct-contact portfolio of mid-level donors who are giving $500-$10,000 and have potential to increase their giving. 
  • Manage team of Mid-Level Giving Officers.
  • First year goal is to establish the department plan and program, build the team, and design the processes to support the work. 
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the Foundation – its values, history, culture, traditions, communities, programs, personalities, constituencies and governance structure; understand its base of financial support and the short and long-term funding requirements of all segments of the organization.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of directly related work experience. Management experience required.
  • Subject matter expertise; prior experience building a mid-level giving program is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and data to drive plans and activity.
  • Ability to travel outside of the Market as needed for training opportunities and other March of Dimes business.
  • Donor-centric best practices with a focus on retention based philanthropy
