March of Dimes is seeking a highly energetic Digital Advocacy Manager to develop and execute the digital advocacy program in support of the policy efforts led by the Office of Government Affairs. The Digital Advocacy Manager will grow our grassroots advocacy recruitment and mobilization to advance March of Dimes legislative priorities for women, infants, children and families across a wide range of issues at the federal and state levels. This is a temporary position with the potential option to hire, located in Arlington, VA. The Digital Advocacy Manager will report directly to the Director of Digital Marketing.
The ideal candidate will have strong digital advocacy skills and experience. He/she is a self-starter who demonstrates a high degree of proactivity, works well in a collaborative environment, and is comfortable mobilizing and inspiring communities to take action.
- Lead the execution of digital advocacy campaigns to ensure March of Dimes issues are top of mind for policymakers at the state and federal level
- Manage the digital execution of March of Dimes grassroots advocacy efforts. Key campaign tactics will include email, petitions, social media, mobile, content marketing and more
- Review, edit and deploy emails to supporters on our Advocacy Network email list
- Develop localized templates for email and petitions
- Grow and acquire new advocates to join our Advocacy Network email and mobile list
- Manage and develop content for our March of Dimes advocacy social media accounts
- Act as the day-to-day liaison for using and optimizing our online advocacy platform
- Update our advocacy digital web properties on marchofdimes.org
- Participate in the planning and execution of special events and projects, such as the Gourmet Gala and MOMentum Gretchen Carlson Advocacy Fellowship
- Conduct research and analysis on digital advocacy strategies and platforms, serve as an evangelist for best practices
- Provide training to March of Dimes staff on development and execution of effective digital advocacy strategies
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience using Email Service Provider (ESP) and Digital Advocacy tools (e.g. CQ Engage)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Public policy knowledge, skills and abilities
- Prior experience on Capitol Hill or in government relations is preferred
- Working knowledge of eCRMs and Content Management Systems a plus
- Proven track record in digital marketing including email marketing, social media, mobile marketing, and web analytics
- Highly organized, detail oriented and methodical
- Flexible, adaptable and open-minded
- Ability to thrive in an active and engaged workplace environment using multiple communications channels including email, Facebook Workplace and Zoom
