The Associate Director of Executive Marketing will be responsible for creating, driving and managing thought leader platforms and strategic communications for the senior leadership, and most importantly the President and CEO of the March of Dimes. This position is responsible for creating annual executive communications plans for the President and CEO, along with supporting visibility for the Chief Medical and Health Officer and Chief Scientific Officer. Communications plans will include a thought leadership platform strategy, message narrative and proposed tactical execution of the strategy. The Associate Director will craft compelling, executive-level content for internal and external audiences, and acting as a primary liaison to functional executive spokespeople, executive leadership team, key stakeholders and the broader communications community. This position will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Liaison​ Strategic Planning & Executive Team

  • Develop external communications plans for the communications plans for the President and CEO, along with supporting visibility for the Chief Medical and Health Officer and Chief Scientific Officer, to ensure March of Dimes is reach key target audiences Establish communications plans for specified executive leadership that include a thought leadership platform strategy, message narrative to be updated annually, external visibility plan and tactical execution of the strategy that include speaking opportunities, media targets, social media content plans, etc.
  • Work closely with the staff and teams that support March of Dimes executive leadership to ensure information pertaining to external visibility is captured and shared with the marketing department for optimization of leadership positioning of March of Dimes
  • Meet weekly with members of executive leaderships’ team to review plans and discuss upcoming deliverables

Implementation of Executive Comms Plans

  • Create effective messages for various external programs that target relevant audience and propose channel mix based on thought leadership platform and organizational goals
  • Provide communication support to senior level officials by drafting speeches, scripts, documents, etc.
  • Preparing various presentations that compel messages about the organization results, products, career opportunities, etc.
  • Create newsworthy media angles and pitches for executive communications and counsel executives on priority media opportunities
  • Draft proposed content for social media and other relevant channels, work with marketing department team experts to refine content as needed
  • Communicate with press, analyst, and bloggers and educate them about various company policies, stats and profits or losses made by the organization
  • Driving messages from corporate platform into communication plans and strategies when relevant
  • Attend events and speaking engagements with executives as needed

  • Analyze communication effectiveness and revise the appropriately planned communication strategies
  • Assists with issue and crisis communications management
  • Pro-actively provide communication program results to the clients and make use of metrics to inform further communication projects
  • Ensuring the execution of overall communication strategies
Educational Background: 
Four year college degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Progressively responsible experience
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
