The Nature Conservancy’s GLOBE (Growing Leaders on Behalf of the Environment) summer internship program hires undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates (2016, 2017, and 2018) to fill paid internship positions during a 10-week summer internship. Our mission is to provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and the real-world conservation work that contributes to the health and sustainability of our world. The GLOBE Program recruits individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who are interested in contributing to our conservation goals in various fields. The GLOBE Program offers a structured orientation, professional training, network opportunities, mentoring program, and real work experience. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Marketing Coordinator GLOBE Intern assists the Digital Engagement team with content and production work associated with the nature.org redesign. They will work closely with the Associate Director of Digital Content and Promotions to ensure content and migration needs are met for nature.org.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Provide critical support in the transition and update of The Nature Conservancy's flagship digital presence (nature.org)
  • Responsible for helping the Digital team communicate with field staff
  • Provide web production and content development support as needed
  • Track and manage progress towards key deadlines
Educational Background: 
HS Diploma or equivalent.  Enrolled in an undergraduate program, graduate program, or a recent graduate (2016, 2017, or 2018) of Business, Communication, Computer Science, English, Marketing or related field, or equivalent 
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with digital technology
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite for communications, constructing reports and managing calendars (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience providing administrative or project support
  • Experience working independently with high attention to detail
  • Experience with web content production and writing digital content

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent in oral and written Spanish or Portuguese

The Nature Conservancy's GLOBE Program candidate should demonstrate at least one of the following:

Compensation/Benefits: 
  • $12.50/per hour (undergrads) and $14.50/per hour (graduate and recently graduated level students)
Additional Information: 

This is a full-time, temporary internship position with a 10-week term of June 4 – August 10, 2018. 

INTERN SELECTION PROCESS
