Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for directing, managing, coordinating and maintaining an efficient, productive, and organized clinical structure The Director of Clinical Leadership will inspire, lead, & guide mid-level clinician staff in achieving the highest standards of excellence.  This position will also ensure clinical compliance with regulatory requirements as defined by state, federal, PPFA standards and guidelines and PPMI policy and guidelines..

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for generating & interpreting vision & direction to mid-level clinician staff, providing oversight for daily clinical operations in partnership with the Directors of Patient Services (DPS).
  • In collaboraton with the CMO, COO and DPS’s as needed, assume responsibility for forecasting, planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating all clinical services and programs.
  • Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring and training of mid-level clinicians per PPMI policy and guidelines..
  • In partnership with the Medical Leadership Team, manage and monitor the clinical activities by effectively communicating policies, expected outcomes, efficient work routines, and work procedures to the mid-level clinician staff.
  • Under the direction of the COO, assist in the development of budget for clinical services.
  •  Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and increases or decreases in volume that could impact staffing levels, revenues or expenses.
  • Interprets operational, administrative and staffing requests with use of business models to make decisions based on how it will impact both the request and the business. 
  •  With clinical leadership team,  maintain, protocol, clinical policies and procedures within PPMI policy, procedure and PPFA standards and  guidelines.
  •  In partnershp with the HR/Training Department, assume responsibility for enhancing professional knowledge and skills of mid-level clinician staff through participation in educational programs and seminars.
  •  Works with the HR/Training/RM department to assure compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of mid-level clinicians.
  •  Develops staffing guidelines and  assignments according to qualifications of staff and characteristics of the patient population.
  •  Develops, implements and evaluates the orientation program for new organization mid-level clinical personnel. Responsible for orientation of new organization personnel, directly or delegated.
  •  Directs and evaluates performance of all mid-level clinician staff.
  • Stays informed about changes in the field of reproductive health and scope of practice for advance practice nurses; shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
  • Participates actively and strives towards achieving productivity goals.
  • Understand appropriate medical record documentation and CPT and ICD-9 coding as part of the clinical revenue cycle.
Educational Background: 
A Master’s degree in Nursing (with speciality certification as: WHNP, FNP, PA, CNM).
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three years supervisory experience, directly supervising advance practice nurses preferred .  Nurse Practitioner licensed in the State with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience and working knowledge of electronic medical records.
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel (25%-40%) to health center locations.
