Outstanding opportunity for a results-driven professional to lead a local affiliate of internationally-recognized Habitat for Humanity. The Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day management and strategic direction of the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity located in Lawrence, MA. This is a fulltime position with a competitive compensation package.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Working alongside the Board, lead the development and focus of this Habitat chapter’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Provide oversight and management of finances, including preparation, implementation and monitoring of the $2.0m annual operating budget with 15 full and part-time employees.
  • Evaluate and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Recruit and retain an efficient, dedicated, and productive staff; manage development, training, teambuilding, hiring and terminating
  • Refine and administer a business model that produces exceptional mission impact and sustained financial health.
  • Foster positive working relationships with public, private and community organizations
  • Oversee development, implementation, and monitoring of site acquisition, construction and family service plans
  • Lead fundraising and development activities to ensure annual goals are met
  • Engage in outreach and recruitment of donors and volunteers, in support of construction and family service plans
Educational Background: 
Bachelor degree and 3-5 years experience with a non-profit organization preferably in a leadership role
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in non-profit operations management, including financial and personnel management
  • Proven ability to work with volunteers and develop community supports to leverage the success of the organization
  • Outstanding leadership and governance skills, with a strength in fundraising and community relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, as the key representative to the community
  • Commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity and the ability to credibly lead and guide others in their support of the organization
