Position Summary: The Store Manager conducts and directs the daily operations of the store; responsible for hiring, disciplining and terminating employees. The Store Manager collaborates with the Executive Team in establishing operating policies and budgets.

Hours of work: Weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsibilities and Duties:
Administrative

  • Establish and implement sales, cash handling, deposit and reporting procedures.
  • Practice, teach and enforce Safety and Health Policy.
  • Maintain office, warehouse and yard equipment, including vehicles.
  • Recruit, train and supervise all employees.

Sales and Operations

  • Manage inventory to maximize profit.
  • Manage sales and expenses to meet or exceed budget.
  • Participate in development of budgets, marketing, advertising and long-range development plans.
  • Develop relationships with potential sources of supply. Acquire products for sale.
  • Set up and maintain the physical warehouse to optimize sales.
  • Develop and execute a marketing and advertising plan.
  • Provide regular reports to the Executive Team.
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have experience in the operation of a wholesale or retail building material outlet, including broad knowledge of materials, budgeting, customer service, training, safety, equipment maintenance and public relations/advertising. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with employee and customer complaints, communication with the media and the public and the knowledge and ability to communicate organizations programs and philosophy.
