Position Title: Livelihood Employment Specialist

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The employment specialist will be responsible for providing key technical support for the Syrian refugees and affected host community in Jordan. Besides, the employment specialist will help the Livelihood project(s) staff in getting insights about the private sector and entrepreneurial challenges in Jordan and the new technologies that can facilitate wellbeing for the youth in the target locations. The individual will be responsible for helping the refugees and affected host community to improve their economic situation and create the possibility of a better life for their children.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Technical support to project target group and project team to ensure the availability of the technical capacity

  • Support the Livelihood Advisor or Livelihood Manager in coordinating the capacity building activities all over the livelihoods operations and organize the staff in what is related to the technical capacity

  • Support the quality control means on technical performance provided by the line manager, and ensure the reporting of capacity gaps

  • Gather and report marketplace information, communicate organization message to the communities.

  • Ensure the balance between learning and fulfilling resources through providing clarity about technical services available to project staff

  • Attend and participate in Monthly and annual workshops organized by WV Jordan

  • Perform other duties as required

Education:

University diploma related to Human resources, business administration or marketing

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in training or knowledge management

  • 1 year of experience in recruitment organization or human resources management

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven ability and experience in delivering technical services

  • Experience in organizing trainings

  • Experience in translation and reporting

  • Fluency in English and Arabic languages

  • Advanced skills of Information technologies (IT) and MS software (PowerPoint, excel, word)

  • Facilitation

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Jordan’s job market is a plus

  • Experience in working with universities or training providers

  • The position requires being in the field sites 2-3 days a week

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.

  • Be prepared to travel to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required
