To provide technical knowledge, skills and quality in water and sanitation infrastructures and technologies appropriate to WASH programs in Syrian Emergency Response.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Program management and evaluation

  • To identify the appropriate technologies used in WASH programs for water and sanitation infrastructures which is culturally appropriate, user friendly and safe for environment
  • To develop manual and guideline for WASH emergency infrastructures including designs, construction process, operation procedure and maintenance
  • To monitor the quality of engineering works in all project meeting SPHERE and government standards.
  • To increase project engineer’s capacity in constructing quality infrastructures and technologies.
  • To evaluate the construction result, community’s responds on its function and maintenance.

Representation

  • Represent World Vision in WASH cluster technical meeting
  • Advocacy and Communication
  • Coordinate with Communication in publishing manual, guideline and success stories in water and sanitation infrastructures

Financial Management

  • To monitor construction expenses according to bill of quantity, project budget and World Vision financial procedure.
  • Senior Management Leadership
  • To assist WASH Programme Manager in situation and program updates

Human Resource Management

  • To identify the capacity of WASH engineers in World Vision Jordan Syrian Refuge Response
  • Develop orientation package for hygiene promotion staffs

Spiritual Leadership

  • Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity and a dynamic personal sense of life calling
Educational Background: 
University degree in environmental engineering, water supply and sanitation engineering or related fields
Skills/Experience: 

Experience:

  • Experience in rural or decentralized water and sanitation infrastructures at least 3 years
  • 2 years experience in NGO work

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Decentralised water and sanitation infrastructures.
  • Water and sanitation in emergency.
  • Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written).
  • Thorough knowledge of MS office and Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to train and increase capacity of engineers.
  • Commitment to World Vision Core values and mission statement.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible world view, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
  • Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local culture context.
  • Agreement with World Vision’s Christian ethos.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct, understands other international development guidelines.
