The purpose of the position is to plan and follow up on all outreach related activities, design and ensure implementation of Community engagement activities.
Areas of Responsibility:
(65%) Plan and follow up on all outreach related activities.
- Ensure timely completion of project activities according to the weekly and monthly plan
- Ensure that Positive Parenting skills sessions targeting caregivers are being implemented as per plan and standards
- Conduct regular spot-checks on running sessions
- Ensure enrolment of children in public schools
- Disseminate information related to CP for both Lebanese and Syrian refugees based on the mapping
- When needed, conduct a back-up facilitation of positive parenting sessions in the absence of the Outreach facilitator.
- Work in close coordination with relevant staff in other WV units, including different CP components, Education unit and Area Development team to ensure the project’s strong integration with other sectors.
- Engage and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness and non-formal education) conducted at community level /Informal tented settlements, when needed.
- Attend on behalf of the project coordinator coordination meetings when required.
Design and ensure implementation of Community engagement activities.
- Establish community based groups (Syrian) jointly with CP outreach facilitators and monitor regular follow-up to strengthen their role at community level.
- Plan and coordinate the capacity building of the community-based groups with the support of the project coordinator and the technical unit.
- Ensure that community groups are equipped and empowered to support the needs of children, parents and the community as a whole.
- Enhance communities' participation in social cohesion and community engagement events as planned by the project framework.
- Ensure children in assigned communities with high prevalence of child labor are provided with child protection community-based activities that promote their psychosocial wellbeing.
- Participate in ensuring that national and local stakeholders are mobilized to enhance child labor prevention mechanism in coordination with the project coordinator and area manager.
Handle Planning and Reporting
- Develop a monthly plan of the activities to be implemented and submit it to the project coordinator.
- Submission of a monthly report related to the progress of the work to the project coordinator
- Document and share lessons learned with the project coordinator, CP team, local community members, and local stakeholders.
Ensure Staff Management
- Manage the performance of direct reports with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management.
- Develop teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management.
- Conduct Weekly progress meetings with the direct report staff
10% Ensure children’s safety and protection
- Support in the identification of key protection issues or threats affecting children and communities and raise them to Education project coordinator, CP project coordinator as well as Educationand CP specialists.
- Filter referred cases to case management agencies and service providers.
- Filter and analyze the identification and referral of children in need of tailored support to specific institutions/service providers (health services, other NFE programme, PSS services)
25% Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filing
- Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.
- Ensure that all project related MOV are updated and entered into the system.
- Ensure that filling and archiving of specific forms for referrals and weekly reporting are taking place while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the Education and CP project coordinators in the development of different project reports.
- Ensure that the referral tracking sheet is regularly updated, shared, and followed through with the service providers.
5% Perform other duties as required
- Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.
- Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.
- Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.
- Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager
Educational Background:
University degree or higher education relevant to Social work, psychology or social animation, or other relevant fields;
Skills/Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Candidates must have skills in working with people of all ages and social groups;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility
- High integrity in social interactions
- Good verbal and written (reporting) communication skills, with thorough knowledge of Arabic and English and pro-active negotiation skills
- Skilled at working with local communities
- Understanding of policies concerning Child Protection
- Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.).
- Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards
- Two to three years' experience in a similar related job.
- 75% field work and 25% Office work.
- Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
- Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster.
