PURPOSE OF POSITION
Working under the direct supervision of North Area Manager, provide project implementation support, coordinate the implementation of project activities and management of the Education field staff to ensure project deliverables are met as per the proposal.

Planning & coordination of field activities
Oversee and ensure achievements of targets towards donors’ requirements through overall management of the protection programming (indicators performance trackers).
Responsible for all aspects of the project’s daily management, including logistics, administration, security, visibility, community and beneficiaries liaison.
Develop and roll-out project management tools including benchmarks and a supervisory framework and toolkit for the protection programme (including but not limited to child protection committees, life skills, awareness raising etc..).
Regularly review and update the project’s work plan.
Ensure that the project remains on track to achieve the project work plan and objectives.
Implement project activities and ensure the good quality and quantity of the project/s outcomes.
Responsible to identify convenient locations for undertaking education activities in Akkar area.
Participate in periodic evaluations related to the impact of the project on the beneficiaries with support from the DME unit.
Identify technical gaps in the program and identify/implement solutions to meet these gaps.
Work closely with other WV sector (incl. Child Protection and WASH) to ensure that Education is adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions.
Understand and follow up on activities and assess progress of implementation, provide solutions and report issues when needed,
With the support of Grants Units and Area Program Managers, support in preparing grants’ proposals to secure our expansion funding for the protection program as per identified needs and in line with the Protection strategy;

Build relationships & capacities of the hosting and beneficiary community
Ensure that staff reporting to the Coordinator are identifying technical, management and humanitarian gaps and set a plan to address them, whenever possible.
Represents WVL with relevant donors at field level, including UNICEF and UNHCR.
Gather intelligence for individual sector opportunities; a) develop key understanding of sector strategies by donor, b) follow up on specific sectoral procurement opportunities.
Support in engaging and pre-position WV with NGOs and local partners to develop consortia
Actively Attend and participate in sector workings
Undertake a stakeholder mapping analysis (trainers, suppliers, companies, NGOs) in order to understand the functions various stakeholders fulfil, power dynamics, and to identify potential local partners and assess their capacity building needs.

Staff Management
Provide leadership and coaching to the direct reports, including the Caregivers for enhanced service delivery.
Management of the performance of direct reports with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management.
Develop teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management.
Together with the Area Manager, plan and provide opportunities for capacity building to project team in consultation with P&C Department to ensure coordinated technical and personal development.

Security management responsibilities:
Responsible for the security of project staff, ensuring that staff abide by WVL security procedures and policies. Report any security breaches as necessary.
Participate in personal safety training as required
Undertake any other duties as shall be delegated by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of best practices and strategies in protection and Education programming (protection monitoring, GBV, Child protection, ECCD);
Knowledge of the Education, Protection and Child Protection strategy in Lebanon with special emphasis on the Government of Lebanon Education strategy for the Syrian Refugees (RACE, LCRP).
Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
Proven experience in community mobilization;
Proven experience working in emergency settings;
Strong program/technical and budget management skills including project Management cycle and tools
Experience in implementing projects through local partners and providing direct technical support to local organizations;
Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties;
Above average computer literacy in Microsoft Office package (incl. Excel), and holder of a valid driver’s license.
Good Communication and interpersonal skills with ability to network and negotiate with partners and government bodies.
Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
At least 2 years of proven experience in implementation of Education/Child Protection/Protection programming; human rights and/or advocacy work.
Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is an added advantage
University degree of Social Studies, Education, Protection, Development Studies human rights, law or other relevant fields;
