The Kitchen Aide will provide support to the Head Cook with kitchen and dining hall responsibilities as well as be responsible for camper and kitchen laundry.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist Head Cook, as directed, with meal preparation and serving.
- Assist Head Cook with sanitation of kitchen, dining hall facility and equipment.
- Responsible for preparing dining hall prior to meals.
- Responsible for dishwashing and clean up.
- Sweep and mop kitchen, dining room, and restroom floors as scheduled.
- Assist in disposing of garbage and trash.
- Clean dining hall restrooms daily.
- Responsible for camp laundry including kitchen and camper soiled laundry.
- Responsible for moving the lawn using a riding lawnmower once every two weeks.
- Cleaning cabin bathrooms one during each session (mid-week).
Skills/Experience:
- Possess a current Food Handler’s certificate (obtainable during camp orientation)
- Ability to work well with fellow kitchen staff.
- Willingness and ability to adjust to camp resources, conditions and programs.
- Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, squatting, twisting, reaching overhead, walking on wet surfaces, long hours standing, and working in extreme temperatures.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must have current CPR.
