Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania's Philadelphia Division is in need of a Teacher Assistant for a preschool classroom in the Wynnefield Heights section of Philadelphia. This position involves working in a warm team environment supporting the needs of students ages 3-6 years old with disabilities. This center-based position is located close to City Avenue & Monument Road in Wynnefield Heights and offers the right candidate an opportunity to become part of our multi-disciplinary supportive team working with children with disabilities and their families.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Essential duties include supporting all lessons, activities and implementation of individual student goals as well as assisting children in activities of daily living. Strong communication skills, high energy, and desire to have fun with children in a team setting a must!
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children, children with disabilities, or experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs is preferred. Experience with children with Autism preferred but not required.
Educational Background:
High school diploma required.
Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children within a school setting highly preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities a plus.
- Strong communications skills required.
