The Medical Services Grant Manager will establish and maintain a professional, supportive, and caring environment, and support the mission of PPRM, with a focus on managing the implementation and execution of grant/contract deliverables within the Medical Services Department. This position is hourly, non-exempt.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with departmental colleagues, health center staff, and staff in other PPRM departments; demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by working towards a positive outcome with any problems encountered.
- Seeks out new grant/contract opportunities and collaborates with departmental colleagues and members of other departments (e.g. Development) to apply for and secure applicable grants/contracts for use within health centers / Medical Services Department.
- Manages implementation and executes requirements of assigned departmental grants/contracts, which may include but is not limited to Colorado Women’s Wellness Connection, Nevada Women’s Heath Connection, and the Justice Fund:
- Serves as the main contact for all PPRM staff and outside providers for assigned grants/contracts
- Manages all parties involved in executing requirements and deliverables, ensuring they have the information, skills and tools necessary to succeed and holding them accountable
- Develops, implements, and monitors budgets
- Oversees contracting components, including:
- Reviews and routes legal agreements through the appropriate channels
- Establishes and maintains sub-contracts with outside medical providers who are part of program referral system
- Reconciles bills from outside medical providers, ensuring that reimbursement rates are appropriately negotiated and adhered to
- Tracks reimbursements and expenses and provides recommendations regarding continued participation in grants/contracts
- Oversees case management components of grants/contracts
- Completes / collaborates with colleagues to complete required reporting for assigned grants/contracts
- Attends mandatory meetings/events required by grantees/contractees and represents the interests of PPRM
- Assists as indicated with oversight of other lines of funding available to health centers, to help ensure appropriate use of said funding in a timely manner.
- Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalency required; relevant college degree preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Advanced computer skills necessary. Able to work with differing personalities within the Medical Services Department and PPRM. Capable of working diligently to meet deadlines with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Detail oriented with excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills. Able to represent the Medical Services Department to PPRM health center staff and our larger community. Requires a high degree of integrity to ensure maximum confidentiality. Broad knowledge of operations and policy, with a high level of discretion. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
