Manager, Creative Services (Graphic Designer)

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the conceptualization, design, execution and delivery of traditional media and digital media assets that are a compelling embodiment of the United Way of Summit County brand. Manages a variety of concurrent design projects for multiple internal and external stakeholders--from concept through post-delivery--and is responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and with a high level of quality. These projects will include but are not limited to marketing collateral, publications, advertisements, website updates, invitations, presentations, infographics, email marketing, social media graphics, animated graphics, banners, environmental graphics etc.

Areas of Responsibility: 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Percentage of Time

  • 75% 1. Graphic Design: Work from design briefs, prepare rough drafts of material for approval; develop concepts, graphics and layouts for print, email, events, presentations, social media, video and web; design and produce print and digital materials; coordinate, design and produce html design for mass email distribution. Ensure technical compliance with United Way of Summit County brand standards and guidelines across all design work.
  • 15% 2. Website Development and Maintenance: Manage website content updates, enhancements and site change requests.
  • 10% 3. Print Management: Manage day-to day logistics related to design and/or production of inside and outside printing projects.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS WITH: VP, Marketing and Brand Management, Senior Leadership Team, Marketing Manager, Community Impact Team, Engagement Team.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts or Graphic Design
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role.
  • Significant professional experience and advanced proficiency in: CSS, Dreamweaver, HTML5, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of Software including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator using Mac based graphic design software.
  • Experience in CMS, Drupal Content Management System preferred.
  • Competent in MS Office products.
  • Experience in photography and shooting and editing video a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position is primarily a normal office setting, requiring long periods of sedentary work at a desk and computer.
  • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office, walking, climbing stairs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop.
  • Extensive reading.
  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be willing to work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends and other unusual hours on occasion.
  • After-hours event attendance occasionally.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
