United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) has a mission to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of our communities. Not only do we help people in crisis, we go much deeper. We take aim at the root causes of the toughest problems facing our community. We are looking for a dedicated, motivated fundraising professional to help us in the important human service efforts we conduct across central Maryland. By joining our relationship management team, you will help enhance one of the largest charitable fundraising campaigns in the area by building strong relationships with campaign coordinators and prospective stakeholders. Your fundraising role will entail acting as both an ambassador and advocate for UWCH, which includes relationship management, volunteer recruitment/development and community engagement. You will manage workplace fundraising campaigns by developing and implementing campaign strategies using consultative selling to produce successful outcomes. Your role will involve providing world-class customer service to our campaign coordinators as well as assisting and managing high-level executive volunteers. You will be actively involved in strengthening and improving our fundraising efforts by adding your creative ideas and suggestions in support of our internal team and external customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing a portfolio of workplace fundraising campaigns, coordinating special events and volunteer engagement activities, public speaking, data analysis, writing, and community engagement. .
- Must be able to work independently, possess excellent interpersonal skills, presentation and speaking skills. Must be able to handle multiple priorities, problem solve and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and possess a valid Maryland driver's license.
- Successful candidate will live in or be able to easily commute to our Harford County office and be responsible for Harford and portions of Baltimore Counties.
- Candidate will be required to attend occasional monthly meetings and report in to manager located in our main Charles Street office.
