The Program Specialist position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and organized individual to be a part of UWBA’s Equity Team. The Equity Team provides technical assistance grant funding, and program management for partners supporting people in poverty. Together with our partners, we provide a variety of services targeting early school aged children, youth, young adults, parents, and older adults. Services include: two-generation programs for early school success; career exploration for youth; internships and job placements for older youth and young adults; financial education; coaching; as well as bridge and access programs for education and career development for young adults, parents and other adult constituents. The Business Partnership Specialist works as a part of team that engages employers as partners in a spectrum of workforce readiness, job placement, and career pathway programs led by United Way Bay Area. The Business Partnerships Specialist works both in the office and off-site to attend, facilitate, or support events in the community. This is a regular full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.
What You’ll Do:
- Cultivate new, lapsed, and existing employer partners to participate in workforce development activities and work-based learning opportunities.
- Manage employer, event, hiring, communication, and outcome information on the database (Salesforce, etc...).
- Work with the team and partners to coordinate events such as hiring events, resource fairs and information sessions.
- Contribute to a collaborative strategic plan for employer engagement and cultivation.
- Manage a portfolio of employer relationships, including follow-up on hiring, volunteer
opportunities, and sponsorships. - Conduct research on labor market trends and regional workforce initiatives and prepare reports for the team.
- Track employer and client services satisfaction goals and performance. Make recommendations for changes in services, service delivery, and/or operations.
- Support other team goals.

- Interpersonal/Teamwork Skills – Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people inside and outside the organization.

- Ideally you have a familiarity with workforce development program elements from experience with
a community-based organization, economic development agency, corporate human resources, education or other experience. - Ideally you have knowledge of theories of systematic / institutional poverty. Knowledge of the assets of the UWBA target population: individuals and families impacted by multi-generational poverty.
- Experience working with this population or working in advocacy for this population.
- Ideally you have knowledge of partnership or donor cultivation strategies.

Salary: $48,000.00 - 52,000.00 Salary Non-Exempt
