- Assist individuals in searching, preparing, applying, interviewing, obtaining, and maintaining competitive community-based employment.
- Community-based employment is obtained through evaluating skills, developing applications, resumes, and interviewing and appearance skills, job development with employers, employer relationship-building, providing on-the-job training, solving work-related challenges, improving effective communications skills, and supporting individuals in maintaining satisfactory job skills and performance.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, leadership and computer skills is required!
Educational Background:
High School diploma from an accredited institution is required.
Skills/Experience:
- Having a valid North Carolina Driver’s License, good driving record, reliable transportation with valid insurance is required!
- This position may require very occasional night and weekend availability for person-served job training.
- A degree from an accredited four year college or university in human service field such as education, guidance and counseling, social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, occupational or physical therapy preferred, but not required.
- Two years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) or Mental Health/Substance Use (MH/SA) Conditions or Histories is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), LME/MCO’s (Eastpointe) and knowledge of businesses in Lenoir and Surrounding Areas is a plus!
