The Coordinator’s role is critical to the cultivation and stewardship of high-value donors across Resource Development. She/he identifies Individual Philanthropy, Corporate and Strategic Foundation donors whose generous support for Save the Children merits acknowledgement from the Office of the President. This position manages the template process and custom letter/email requests and advises on quality control of tax receipts provided daily by an external vendor. The Coordinator ensures smooth operations by tracking revenue, guiding acknowledgements to signature, and updating donor records. The Coordinator works closely with major gifts fundraisers, and collaborates across Stewardship, Data Analysis, Gift Processing, IT and Finance teams to ensure excellent stewardship of our donors.
- Achieve thorough understanding of the strategies, policies and practices in place at Save the Children for stewardship of high-value donors to support their implementation; proactively identify issues as they arise; support teams in updates and revisions as necessary. (5%)
- Identify and flag Individual Philanthropy gifts that exceed threshold of $20K and Corporate and Strategic Foundation Partnership gifts $100K> for custom acknowledgments from the CEO; Support acknowledgments processes for Trustees, Silver Fund Members and Frequent/Recurring Donors. Personalize ad hoc custom and template letters/emails for major gift donors and shepherd them through the proofing, revision and live-signature process, consistently upholding our standards for excellent stewardship. Execute quality control of donor data, print and mail letters; Make copies of all custom acknowledgements for files and mark gift records as fulfilled. Maintain database files, including proper gift documentation, for all donors, (80%)
- Manage tribute/memorial gift acknowledgments for Major Donors. (5%)
- Work with writers to determine need for new letter templates as new campaigns and/or emergencies arise. (5%)
- Manage additional acknowledgment mailings related to events, etc. Occasionally fulfill small-scale appeals for Individual Philanthropy Group (under 300 pieces). Provide quality control of tax receipts (5%)
Required Qualifications
- You have a minimum 2-3 years' experience in an office setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience in Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge or other donor database preferred
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Experience working with confidential information preferred.
- Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently and simultaneously
- High degree of proficiency and literacy relative to technology hardware and software
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and fundraising background preferable
- Some supervisory experience a plus
- Experience in Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge or other donor database
