Senior Specialist, New Business Partneships

As a member of the Corporate Partnerships team, this position will support new business leadership in business development efforts to meet annual revenue goal of $15M -$20M. He/she will be a critical member of the team and will spend 60% of the time internally supporting account work and 40% managing relationships with low to mid-level inbound prospects. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Amplify the new business team efforts with prospect follow-up and recruitment. Develop proposals, schedule donor and food bank meetings, prepare meeting prep materials, create stewardship reports and other core account management tasks including Salesforce data entry. (60%--internal function).
  • Serve as point of contact for smaller inbound leads. Specifically, develop, manage and successfully transition four to five low to mid-level partnerships on an on-going basis. These partnerships could include cause marketing campaigns, corporate philanthropic giving and/or employee engagement. (40%--external function).
  • In collaboration with department head and philanthropy operations team, coordinate new business team tracking tools that will help provide better visibility to reaching team goals including: high dollar report, churn report and vertical report. Provide recommendations and follow-up.
  • Develop and manage team’s standard operating procedures and team calendar for donor, food bank and referral stewardship. Work with specialist to execute.
  • Represent business development function in planning meetings with new and developing partners.
Educational Background: 
 BA/BS accepted or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Cover letter with resume is required.
  • Minimum 5 years business development experience preferred (non-profit/for-profit).
  • Experience in account management and relationship management.
  • Ability to work across a broad range of diverse constituents including food bank members and all levels of corporate leadership.
  • Detail orientation, strong organizational and project management skills including ability to meet deadlines and report progress against revenue goals and objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker and team player who is willing to both lead and exhibit a flexible and proactive attitude to completing necessary work assignments.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills; Salesforce knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation toward colleagues, network food banks, donors and vendors.
  • Commitment to organizational mission of creating a hunger-free America.
