The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator works to develop and manage the creation, coordination, and engagement of individuals and groups in one-time and ongoing volunteer projects. This includes managing several volunteer events; overseeing the technical implementation of Salesforce and Form Assembly as tools for effective volunteer engagement; coordinating the gathering and disbursement of volunteer needs; supporting the engagement of Scouts to support donation needs, and performing other duties as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan and execute Year of Action volunteer opportunities for National Volunteer Week (April), Day of Caring (September), and Volunteer Action Network Week (October)
- Oversee the creation and implementation of volunteer engagement Salesforce dashboards and reports for Resource Development, Collective Impact, and Marketing & Engagement team members
- Create surveys and forms through Form Assembly
- Oversee the collection and submission of volunteer team communications through Asana
- Oversee the collection of volunteer needs and ensure the list of open opportunities are edited and up to date
- Support 2-1-1 in having the information they need to effectively connect volunteers to available opportunities within our schools/Partner Volunteer Network agencies
- Support requests for Scout projects to support our work
- Support needs at the UWSL JA City storefront
- Ensure effective data tracking of individuals and groups
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to problem solve
- Ability to identify barriers and develop strategies to overcome them
- Ability to think creatively, take risks, and champion new ideas
- Ability to interact with community members from diverse backgrounds
QUALIFIED
- Two or more years volunteer or event management experience
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft programs, Smartsheet, Salesforce, Asana, and Google Drive
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings, and/or early morning work hours
- Reliable transportation
- Candidates must be able to pass UWSL background check and drug screening to hold this position
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to be on your feet, standing/walking, for up to 6-8 hours, inside and outside an office environment, approximately 40% of the time
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, approximately 60% of the time
Compensation/Benefits:
This is a non-exempt position; salary depending on experience.
