We are seeking a Development and Grants Manager to join our expanding team.  Every Woman Treaty is passionate about the power of dedicated citizens to change the world.  

As our Development and Grants Manager, you will work with our team to: build a sustainable funding model for the institution in line with our global structure, identify and pursue new sources of funding and develop a sustainable and effective grants program. To be successful, you should build good relationships with foundation leads and prospective donors, communicate with and support the CEO, Chiefs and Global Coalition members with their “asks”, delegate tasks, and draw up plans to ensure quarterly and annual revenue targets are met. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

 

  • Creating a robust development and grants strategy for the organization.

  • Setting and meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.

  • Designing and drafting grant proposals, concept notes, LOIs and other documents needed to support institutional priorities.

  • Conducting research on grant-making institutions and identifying new and appropriate funding opportunities.

  • Engaging with donor agencies.

  • Coordinating with and overseeing the work of the Development and Communications Coordinator.

  • Training global coalition members on effective outreach and pitch strategies to donors.

  • Ensuring each institutional and major donor in the portfolio has a clear owner and set of tasks for excellent stewardship.

  • Preparing and monitoring grant budgets, timelines and deliverables, inclusive of progress reports (financial and narrative).

  • Ensuring compliance with all grant regulations. 

  • Coming up with ingenious ways to raise awareness and pitch EWT’s work.

  • Implementing a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.

Skills/Experience: 
  • Relevant degree and proven fundraising track record required.

  • At least 5 years of successful development and grant writing experience.

  • Demonstrated passion for women’s rights and ending violence against women.

  • Sound knowledge of the charity sector.

  • Comfortable taking initiative, in a start-up-type culture.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and networking abilities.

  • Superior organizational and project management skills.

  • Exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. 

  • Methodical and strategic thinking.

  • Extensive experience in cross-cultural communications, preferably working regularly with partners in other countries.

  • Ability to connect with and relate to frontline activists around the world.

  • Knowledge of and relationships with relevant donor agencies a plus.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
