This position’s primary responsibility is to develop a 2-3 year communications and marketing plan consistent with El Porvenir’s mission and vision, then lead and execute the plan. The Communications Manager will develop a plan and content that is informative and compelling AND prioritizes a culturally-informed, equity lens for our partners and projects. The Communications Manager works collaboratively with the U.S. and Nicaraguan teams to create all print and digital materials that communicate our mission, programs, and results.
The Communications Manager will work with U.S. and Nicaraguan staff to compellingly tell El Porvenir’s story of partnering with rural Nicaraguans on crucial basic needs projects. The Communications Manager’s goal is to raise funds for El Porvenir’s programs through print and digital communications pieces, social media, special campaigns, and some special events.

Develop a 2-3 year communications and marketing plan for El Porvenir

Lead and execute El Porvenir’s communications and marketing efforts

Digital: plan and execute social media content, website content, monthly blog story, and marketing emails

Print: plan and execute twice annual newsletters, annual report, end of year appeal letter, and all other print materials needed

Phone: make thank you and outreach calls

Strengthen, expand, and support our network of Friends of El Porvenir groups

Support all communications aspects of special events such as our Virtual Fiesta

Generate press releases and publicity

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

5+ years professional experience in communications or marketing with a nonprofit organization, preferably in international development

Spanish proficiency

Salary range: $48,000-57,000 annually, depending on experience
