We currently have an excellent opportunity for VICE PRESIDENT YOUTH MARKET based in Sacramento with a revenue goal of $1.6M. In this position, you are responsible for leading a team of fundraisers with accountability for managing school based accounts in an assigned territory that includes SACRAMENTO, CENTRAL VALLEY, NORTH BAY, MONTANA AND IDAHO. You will coach and develop staff to achieve established volunteer engagement and fundraising goals by creating a vision and facilitating the development of specific action plans with each team member. You will actively work with each team member to grow existing accounts and secure new ones for sustained growth.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Accountable for overall management, planning and development of Youth Market Activities in assigned region and support successful achievement of team and affiliate-wide goals.
- Responsible for developing and managing all centrally based services to support field based activities including support of field based directors and customer relations.
- Train staff on sales cycle, event and volunteer management.
- Make regular joint volunteer visits to coach staff on volunteer management, sales process and campaign results.
- Responsible for development of meetings, strategic planning and goal development for designated team.
- Coordinate the annual planning process for YM activities including the development of affiliate wide revenue goals.
- Analyze data and reports to define team’s plan of action, monitor results of plan and report progress towards goal on a regular basis.
- Manage the formulation and administration of the expense budget for the YM program including maintaining expenses within approved levels.
- Facilitate and support professional growth opportunities for staff.
- Assume direct responsibility for working open territories.
- Cultivate and thank top volunteers through personal visits and correspondence.
- Integration with other teams and divisions to meet affiliate and national AHA goals.
- Accountable for implementing, interpreting and adhering to all AHA and WSA policies, values standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Provide advice, consultation and timely reports on the progress of YM initiatives and annual goals
Educational Background:
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience:
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in business management, community relations, program delivery, fundraising, communications/public relations or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to function in and support a team environment
- Skills in oral and written communications, consultation and comprehensive planning
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout assigned region on a regular basis and for affiliate and National Center meetings as required (minimum 50% to 60% travel required weekly). Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Experience and understanding of volunteer organizations, training and management with an emphasis on community.
- Proven background and willingness to work in atmosphere requiring flexibility and change as well as ability to work irregular hours including attending evening and weekend meetings or events.
- Familiarity with the culture and professional organizations associated with primary education.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. to transport supplies and materials
- Ability to develop work product using computer software
- Ability to communicate routinely via phone, personal contact and via computer
- Ability to drive a vehicle to conduct company business and attend events
- Walking, standing, sitting required throughout the typical business day
- Ability to travel throughout the territories served and to affiliate and association-wide meetings and conferences (minimum 50%-60% travel required weekly).
