Summary:The Community Experience Program is currently seeking a Community Support Specialist to join the Sussex County IDS staff team to support adults participating in janitorial contract work and various volunteer opportunities in the community.
Basic Responsibilities:The Community Support Specialist will be responsible for providing supervision for a work crew and carrying out individual and group instruction specific to program participants and the Community Experience Program site(s) to which they are assigned. This position requires the ability to work independently with a group of participants in the community and also have the flexibility to meet program needs.
Qualifications:Community Support Specialist will be responsible for the overall health and safety needs of all assigned participants and documentation of daily activities related to work and services delivered to program participants. The Community Support Specialist will provide transportation to and from community locations as assigned; an acceptable driving record is a must. Working hours are 3pm to 8pm. An AA degree in human services is preferred and experience working with Adults with disabilities is a must. This is a non-exempt 25-hour position with competitive salary and benefits
