Provides technical support of PC; laptop and mobile devices. This includes hardware/software problem resolution; reimaging; and configuring devices for end users. Follows procedures and processes for warranty repair and initial deployment of new desktops and laptops. Processes include necessary shipping/receiving, inventory tracking; and equipment security. Ensures that metrics are logged; as necessary; to support process improvement.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensure that equipment is processed (shipped; received) in a timely manner and is in accordance with methods and procedures.
- Follow equipment inventory tracking procedures.
- Troubleshoots returned hardware and software to determine cause of issue.
- Repairs equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty program.
- Performs hardware upgrades and maintenance as necessary such as replacing HD’s; LCD displays; adding memory; etc.
- Reimages and configures COE equipment for rapid redeployment to staff.
- Restores user files where necessary.
- Ensures that returned and removed service equipment is tracked and disposed of according to established policies and procedures.
Skills/Experience:
FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of two years hardware/software experience in a support capacity preferred.
- CompTIA A+ required
- Strong knowledge technical knowledge of desktops, laptops.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience in shipping and receiving computer and other sensitive equipment• Experience tracking inventory of IT equipment
- Good working knowledge of Active Directory Users and Groups administration
