The United Way of Marquette County (UWMC) seeks a full-time energetic and results–oriented professional to serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director serves as the face of the United Way of Marquette County and is responsible for building and maintaining an impeccable reputation and brand for the organization as well as providing direction for policies and programs to keep United Way viable and responsive to changing needs.
The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall administration and management of UWMC in achieving its mission and strategic goals. The Executive Director manages, either directly or through staff and volunteers, the fundraising, community building, fund distribution, and communications activities of UWMC in its mission to bring people, organizations and resources together to improve community well-being. The Executive Director manages financial resources of UWMC in a cost-effective manner, including developing and meeting budgets.
The Executive Director is responsible for assisting in attracting the highest level of volunteer leadership for all functions of UWMC and developing and maintaining significant, impactful relationships with persons at all levels within the public, private and volunteer sectors.
Applicants must be able to develop and implement strategic plans and achieve strategic goals, including fund-raising plans and objectives; possess exemplary leadership skills and be able to manage and inspire staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders, including the Board of Directors; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to large groups and in one-on one situations effectively; have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; possess strong computer and technical skills; and have sound financial management experience, including financial and tax reporting, audits, and the development of budgets.
