The position holder will implement Primary Health Care interventions within the assigned geographical area and participate in the provision of preventive and curative care for mothers, children and adults. He/ She will ensure the implementation of primary health care activities in the communities through training, supervision and collaboration with the community health /nutrition volunteers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide Clinical consultation and treatment using the established protocols and standards.
  • Provide continuous on the job training and supervision and monitoring for the Community health workers, community nutrition workers, Village health committees and traditional birth attendants.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual, quarterly and weekly work plans and reports in timely manner.
  • Collect compile and analyze monthly health and nutrition reports in timely manner. Including development of commodity distribution plan, health and nutrition surveillance data.
  • Lead in the formation, training and supervision operations of Village Health committees/CHWs/CNWs
  • Closely work with nutrition team to oversee beneficiary screening, registration, nutrition treatment and follow up.
  • Keep adequate control of all assets, material and equipment being used at the health facilities, ensuring timely replenishment is maintained.
  • Support community health workers, community nutrition workers and nutrition staff adhere to treatment protocols and SOPs.
  • Serve as technical resource person for all community health volunteers.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of general healthcare at the health post and outreach sites.
Educational Background: 
Minimum of a Diploma in Nursing or Public health
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 years working experience in a busy public health intervention/facility in Somalia.
  • Past experience in implementing CIMAM and TSFP/OTP programs will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy is required with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power point.
  • Should have good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Customer-focused. Should demonstrate a strong willingness to meet client’s needs.
  • Should demonstrate good time-management skills. Able and willing to work extra hours.
  • Past working experience working in Juba land and South West State Ministry of Health facilities will be an added advantage.
