The Indiana 211 (IN211) Partnership provides vision, leadership, and management for the local 2-1-1 Centers throughout the state leveraging resources to sustain and expand services. The SNAP Outreach Coordinator, funded by a 1-year Indiana Family and Social Services Administration grant, manages a statewide outreach project to reach Indiana residents in need of supplemental nutrition assistance.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide training and technical assistance to IN211 call center staff to ensure consistent, quality service to callers and other constituents related to the SNAP Outreach contract is provided.
- Work with IN211 staff, call center directors and partner agencies to:
- Develop a statewide outreach plan;
- Identify new and/or report changes to available food and hunger-related resources, programs and events; and
- Create a forum where information and ideas are exchanged on a regular basis.
- Collect data and develop reports for FSSA, IN211 and partner agencies.
- Develop and monitor call-center and outreach metrics and performance as related to the SNAP Outreach contract.
- Oversee the completion of Outcome Surveys for callers who have been referred for SNAP benefits; edit caller records and provide appropriate feedback to stakeholders.
- Maintain appropriate relations with other professional and social service groups in the community, particularly related to hunger and food issues.
- Manage and prepare monthly invoice and claim submittal package for accounting.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Educational Background:
BA/BS in Social Work preferred or other degree with appropriate experience;
Skills/Experience:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a must; supervisory, financial record-keeping and management skills a plus; ability to develop and implement program policy and procedures;
- Highly organized; flexible; independent worker; ability to accept a wide range of lifestyles and human conditions;
- Willingness and ability to travel to all IN211 Centers across the state as well as any other meetings as needed;
- Demonstrated ability to work with a broad range of individuals and personalities; knowledge of human service delivery and social issues from both provider and consumer points of view; knowledge and experience with volunteerism.
