The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore [www.unitedway4us.org] Board of Directors is seeking to fill the position of President and Chief Executive Officer in Salisbury, MD.  UWLES is a high-performing clearinghouse of solutions, funding and networking for the challenges of our region.  We leverage talents and relationships of all constituents to accomplish transformational community change.  Serving over 80,000 individuals a year through our four-county service area, we deliver on our mission – “To create and enhance opportunities for making a positive and lasting impact in education, financial stability and health for all.”

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 

The ideal candidate will be an effective, thoughtful executive who possesses the ability to build consensus, facilitate collaboration, and foster sustainable relationships with diverse individuals, groups, organizations and communities; and successfully move a diverse group of people toward a common vision.  Excellent strategic, organizational, analytical and communication skills required.  High visibility position with an opportunity to make a significant impact in the community. 

Do you have what it takes to build relationships and create impact?

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ leadership experience working in a non-profit sector of comparable size [United Way experience is desirable]
  • Extensive fundraising and/or foundation experience, including creating innovative community partnerships, corporate campaigns, grants, planned-giving with individual donors, special events to increase philanthropic support of UWLES
  • Exceptional communication skills in verbal, written & media applications, with the ability to market the relevance & value of UWLES to all constituents & stakeholders.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $91,000 to $100,000 per year
