The purpose of this position is to support Business Partner organizational development by ensuring the organizational development and learning & development needs of staff are appropriately identified, addressed and carried out effectively in line with staff performance management and other organizational development needs.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Organizational Development

  • Support BP OD in OD processes by implementing initiatives, monitoring and providing timely feedback.
  • Support BP OD in implementing and monitoring the talent management & succession planning process and performance management.
  • Support BP OD in change management approaches and methodology for the people side change caused by projects and change efforts.

Learning & Development

  • Facilitate and identify of specific learning and development needs in line with performance gaps and other job specific requirements.
  • Develop and maintain learning and development calendar for the organization.
  • Ensure all employees have individual development plans in place.
  • Conceptualize, coordinate and implement managerial and leadership learning and development efforts.
  • Work with different stakeholders across the organization to identify talents to improve business performance and develop talents.
  • Work with institutes, resource persons and consultants to facilitate the learning and development efforts.

Induction, Orientation and immersion

  • Design and initiate role specific induction, orientation and immersion programmes for all newly acquired talents.
  • Facilitate unified and continuous nurture orientation for all newly acquired talents.
  • Organize immersion programme for all acquired talent for Colombo office.

Information and data Management

  • Maintain all required information of employee learning and development initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain proper data bases for employee performance, individual development, and learning and development efforts.
  • Asses, analyze and provide timely feedback and reports on learning and development, performance gaps etc., on regular basis.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree / Professional diploma in HR Learning & Development or equivalent qualifications.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent oral and written English communication ability.
  • Strong skills of designing and evaluating learning and development initiatives.
  • Strong skills of conceptual clarity and analytical thinking.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation and inter-personnel relationship skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 1-2 year experience in adult learning and development.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Active listening and team work skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience within humanitarian industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience of implementing and managing learning and development efforts at all levels of the organization
  • Must be positive, authentic, solution-oriented team player ready go extra miles when needed.
  • Knowledge on adult learning and education principles.

Work Environment/Travel

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as and when needed.
