To lead the WV Indonesia’s successful international grant acquisition and management and strategic positioning with international partners.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Strategy Development & Planning:

  • Lead development of a successful Grant Acquisition & Management (GAM) strategy for the national office (NO) based upon landscape and competitor analysis, NO priorities, and expertise from Support Office personnel.
  • Leads the formulation of the national Grant Acquisition & Management business plan based on the national strategy.
  • Develops and implements plan in coordination with other technical and functional teams.
  • Develops WV Indonesia donor relationship management plan and executes with appropriate national and regional personnel.

Resource Acquisition & Management:

  • Periodically develops competitive project proposals following donor’s project guidelines and parameters in close coordination with program teams and sector specialists to readily respond to CFPs (call for proposals).
  • Responsible for sustaining WVIndonesia’s partnership with various embassies, bilateral agencies, multilateral agencies, international corporations and Support Offices, exploring new donors and partners to strengthen WVIndonesia’s resource pool.

Capacity Building:

  • Build capacity of Grant Resource Acquisition and Management Officers and organization in grant resource acquisition.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates Grant Acquisition & Management capacity building strategy and plan in close coordination with Operations, People & Culture and regional Grant Acquisition & Management director.

Accountability & Quality Assurance:

  • Serve as senior advisor to National Director on donor landscape, donor trends and appropriate national office strategic response.
  • Ensure quality of proposals and reports generated by national office.
  • Monitors and evaluates Grant Acquisition Management business plan progress via monthly and quarterly reporting in collaboration with senior leadership team and regional GAM director.
  • Ensures maximum adherence and compliance to accountability standards and the grant contracts.
  • Represent World Vision generally and the national office specifically in priority donor, partner and stakeholder relationships.
  • Regularly updates the senior management team on WV Indonesia engagement with these agencies including new possibilities and terms of engagements.

Networking & Coordination:

  • Ensures WV Support Offices are engaged in all international grant acquisition per World Vision partnership guidelines.
  • Ensure strong relationship development plan with priority donor and partner is in place, managed and monitored.
  • Serves as the NO focal person in coordinating, reporting, and communicating with various Support Offices (SOs) and the South Asia and Pacific Office (SAPO) the Regional GAM Lead on grants acquired.
  • Liaise effectively with concerned departments and teams to increase effectiveness of GAM implementation, including grants finance team to ensure accuracy of grant data in PBAS and Horizon.

Management & Leadership:

  • Updates organizational structure and systems to strengthen acquisition rates as well as accountability to donors.
  • Provide line management and mentoring for at least 4 Grant Officers, including Performance Management, Coaching for Performance and capacity building.
  • Create enabling and positive team environment where staff are able to develop their spiritual gifts and grow in Christian maturity.
  • Provide Christian leadership and support to enrich the organisation’s life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor Degree/Master Degree in International Development, Social Works or other relevant subjects.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years work experience in donor-funded grant-related work (competitive proposal development, project design, grant management), preferably USAID, AUSAID and EU grant.
  • Min. 3 years experience in managerial position.
  • Demonstrate strong experience grant proposal writing and grant-related audit.
  • Experience engaging cross-sector partners (i.e. private sector, academia, research institutions), negotiating partnership agreements.
  • Fluent in Indonesian Language is preference.

  • Ability to synthesize often complex, technical information into coherent proposal language suitable for external, international audiences.
  • Strategic planning ability and appreciation for business planning processes, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong team player and excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Creative, “out-of-the-box” thinking and genuine desire to be an agent of change.
  • Excellent in English, both in written and verbal (min. TOEFL score 550).
  • Donor-funded grant-related work.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
