The Community Associate is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community organizations that increase access to healthy food, offer child nutrition programs, nutrition education, and physical activity enrichment programs and supporting such organizations in increasing access to such programming.
- Assist with relationship building and collaborative projects with child nutrition program partners.
- Work with external partners including schools, community organizations, and local governments to promote child nutrition program participation.
- Maintain relationships with funded partners who are implementing child health and healthy food access programs with UWSEM funding.
- Implement community engagement strategies to increase aweareness of available child nutrition programs (with an emphasis on Meet Up & Eat Up summer meal programs) and health-related enrichment activities.
- Assist with the project planning and facilitation of collaborative gatherings, events, and/or conferences with internal and external partners.
- Assist with network development and collaborative efforts to increase access to physical activities and nutrition education for children.
- Together with the program team, develop newe tools, processes and strategies to help our partner agencies meet the needs of the community.
- Coordinate and track program data and assist team in analyzing program participation trends to assist in strategy development for program expansion.
- Collaborate with team members to create meeting agendas, objectives, and scheduling follow-up activities.
