The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent job opportunity for a Fundraising (Sales) Director, Youth Market in the Greater Los Angeles market. In this road warrior position, you work directly with 125 schools, existing and new, in a large geographic territory, with school accounts concentrated in Simi Valley, Santa Clarita, Hollywood/West Hollywood, Glendale and Arcadia.
Key responsibilities include prospecting and recruiting schools to participate in the AHA Kids Heart Challenge fundraising activities; securing cash sponsorship; training and coaching school volunteers to set and meet fund raising goals; providing excellent customer service to all accounts; and ensuring overall success of the program.
- Achieve an established fundraising goal
- Recruit and manage K-12 school accounts (existing and new) to participate in Kids Heart Challenge within the assigned geographic territory
- Secure cash sponsorships
- Recruit, train, coach and motivate volunteers in Youth Market products and services
- Build strong relationships with volunteers including School Districts, Principals, Teachers and Parent Teacher Associationsthrough outstanding customer service
- 2+ years outside sales or fundraising experience, with proven track record in achieving goals
- Strong cold-calling, relationship-building and customer service skills
- Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer coaching and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and ability to maintain a high volume of account data in a timely and accurate manner
- Highly effective organizational, multitasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during irregular work hours
- Willing and able to travel extensively within given territory (30-40 school visits per week). Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and personal vehicle or other reasonable form of transportation
- Able to lift 15-20 pounds to transport supplies and materials
