The Marketing Manager executes on United Way of Summit County’s brand and marketing strategies and oversees the production of promotional materials and marketing campaigns in order to generate broader community awareness of and investment in the organization’s Bold Goals by 2025. The successful Manager is a collaborative, mission-focused and results-driven brand steward. Through the expert management of the organization’s marketing projects this position works to increase brand recognition and engagement with our volunteers, advocates, donors, program participants and the wider community.
Marketing Project Management: (30%)
- Work with VP of Marketing & Brand Management to contribute to the conception and development of the overall annual marketing plan. Collaborate with marketing staff and work cross-functionally with other departments to produce marketing tactics that include but are not limited to print, web, video, photography and events as experiential marketing. Manage integrated marketing projects from start to finish and assure that work is completed on time. Maintain external vendor relationships with photographers, videographers and other creative partners.
Digital Media: (30%)
- Develop and implement an overall strategy to manage and grow the organization’s presence across its social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Oversee and/or manage the creation of digital marketing tactics including website, video, photography, SEO strategy, mobile marketing and paid search. Track, measure, and analyze initiatives to report on digital media ROI. Arrange photography and video for special events. Maintain organization photo and video library and archives.
Advertising: (20%)
- In conjunction with the VP of Marketing & Brand Management, develop and activate an annual advertising plan that includes newspaper, radio, social media, digital advertising and niche publications.
Copywriting: (20%)
- Prepare copy for various print and digital marketing materials including website, emails, invitations, brochures, advertising, articles, video storyboards and scripts, event messaging and more.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS WITH: Vice President of Marketing & Brand Management, Creative Services Manager, Communications Manager, external vendors, Community Impact Team, Corporate and Community Engagement Team and United Way volunteers, donors and beneficiaries of United Way programs and initiatives.
- 3 years’ experience in an advertising, marketing or journalism related environment required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven creative approaches to marketing strategies and tactics.
- Proficiency in utilizing social media marketing platforms and communications monitoring applications.
- Competent in MS Office products.
- Interest in the improvement of the Summit County community.
- Demonstrated experience in shooting and editing quality photography and video, Google Ads experience/certification are a plus.

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Position is primarily a normal office setting, requiring long periods of sedentary work at a desk and computer.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office, walking, climbing stairs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop.
- Extensive reading.
- Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be willing to work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours on occasion.
- After-hours event attendance occasionally.
- Valid driver license and proof of insurance.
- Access to reliable insured automobile to be used for work-related travel in Summit County area.
