Americorps Member - Opioid Abuse Program

This position is located at United Way of Porter County in Valparaiso, IN. The AmeriCorps member will assist in collaborating with community and human service organizations to engage the community as part of the solution to opioid use at the local level.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintaining collaborations with targeted organizations in the community based on recommendations from year one of the AmeriCorps project.
  • Working with Community Impact Specialist and Community Impact Director in support of identifying and validating working groups.
  • Attending applicable community coalition and United Way staff meetings
  • Conducting community conversations and trainings on Harwood Institute, as needed.
  • Participating in community and networking events to help raise awareness of United Way programming.
  • Identifying and facilitating possible collaborations between organizations with shared goals.
  • Develop and update presentation to socialize findings from first year of United Against Opioid Abuse program.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma
