Development (Fundraising) Director, Go Red For Women Campaign

We currently have an excellent job opportunity for a Development Director, Go Red For Women with the Greater Bay Area Division (based in Oakland) . This Division is the #2 fundraising office in the nation and poised to move up to the #1 position. In the last 3 years the division has tripled new revenue growth and is on track to raise $10M in the next three years. The Director, in collaboration with staff and executive level volunteers, will plan and implement the local Go Red For Women campaign to achieve a fundraising goal of over $500,000 generated through corporate sponsorship and individual patron giving.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and management of corporate and patron sponsors through year-round cultivation
  • Drives the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting and activating executive leadership volunteer committees in both the corporate and medical communities
  • Provides staff support in planning, development, maintenance, implementation and evaluation of the Go Red For Women Luncheon according to best practices, benchmarks and timelines to achieve the overall net fundraising goal
  • Conducts active community and B2B networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with donors, volunteers and sponsors
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing
  • Proven Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers to achieve established goals
  • Ability to lead a team but also work independently
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including skill in making presentations to large and small audiences
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed

Here are some of the preferred experience/skills we are looking for:

  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar non-profit experience in a fundraising position
  • Experience in closing high level corporate sponsorship
